RayLen Yadkin Valley 2005 Chardonnay

RayLen Wine Chardonnay
Where is the Yadkin Valley? Oh, a magical place called Mocksville, North Carolina. North Carolina is the land of sweet wines and I’ve yet to meet one I like. That said, this one passes the test.

The RayLen has a very nice buttery finish to complement the sweet start. The toasted oak really comes out in the nose and mid-way through the finish. This is chardonnay is full of flavor, more on the fruity side…melon & pear with a touch of apple & honeysuckle.

North Carolina: this is the best wine you’ve put on my tounge and in my belly. While the bar was low, I give this a 6/10.

P.S. I hope I didn’t alienate 999 of 1000 of my readers with this pic – Go Duke! ...Or the fact that I recruited my 2 year old to hold a bottle of wine. ;)

While I have not yet had a wine from Yadkin Valley - I will challenge you on the Sweet Wine Capital of the world. Wines from Florida, whether from Scuppernog or from mangos, will rival the sweetest thing you've ever had in your LIFE! During a live streaming tasting, I once described a FL wine as "tasting like Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum, but sweeter" ...

Cheers
