2007 Mazzei Poggio alla Badiola Toscana IGT

Can a brother have some wine with his tannins? Take a big sniff after a few swirls and you'll feel that burn. I'll suggest a meal with this one.

The Badiola a suprisingly thick but smooth wine, 6/10 ranking for $13 at Costco. It's a blend of 70% sangiovese and 30% merlot grapes - interesting to see a very Italian grape blended with something primarly from other regions. Slight tobacco and chocolate on the finish.
